The Mario Bemer USA Unboxing has been long overdue as I have been more than swamped these past two months. But, I finally had some time to knock it all and be able to show all of you the Tuscan greatness that he has brought Stateside with his hand welted Italian shoes.
This is the second pair that Mario actually made for me. The first one was a half size too small, and for good reason as it was a size 39, which I have never been in my life. Strangely enough, the 39.5 was the right size, also a size I had never been before. I explain this in the video. The sizing is tricky, so make sure to listen to my feedback there. I must say that Italian shoes are among the trickiest in my history of shoe fitting. Most often they run large, as is the case here.
The shoes are super solid. Some of the most supporting shoes I have felt, outside of bespoke. The full leather arch stiffener helps there. You rarely get that outside of fully handmade bespoke shoes. And that is really what helps to make a shoe supportive, although some might mistake it for discomfort as it can make the shoe quite stiff to start.
Mario Bemer USA is actually located in Queens, NYC for those that did not know. Mario splits his time between there and Tuscany, where he controls the production. If you have yet to check him out, I suggest doing so.
