TYE Shoemaker’s version of a Saddle Shoe is something so simple yet so different. If you follow TYE Shoemaker on Instagram, now called TYE Bespoke, you will see that their designs are always classic but yet with these unique and subtle twists that are often so clever no one else would think of them. In fact, a lot of their designs are 100% original. And that is impressive and partly why I like them so much.
It is hard to get a lot of information out of them, but as one might tell from the new IG name and simply the quality that you see in the photos, they are a bespoke footwear brand out of Japan. I do not think they really do too many trunk shows outside of Japan. I have seen them showcase at Kevin Seah in Singapore. I have been wanting them to come to the London Super Trunk Show. Let’s see if we can convince them to come for one year.
I had the pleasure of seeing them once at Kevin Seah’s when I was doing my own trunk show there. They were nothing shy of phenomenal. I was blown away by the flawlessness of them. And naturally, as I love their design capabilities, they quickly became among my favorites. And as a sucker for saddle shoes, I have always loved this model too. I would be so curious to see it as a two-tone. Hopefully, somebody will a pair!
When you carefully study the details, you notice that they added a double row of stitching along the border of the outer saddle. This is decorative as they already had a single seam to close the pieces together. Even more so clever, was the fact that on the inner part of the saddle strap, they added that same double row but cut it off before the bend. That intentional subtle detail is what sets them apart in my book. And what makes this a flawless oxford unlike any other!
